Welcome! I am happy you made it here. I am Abi Stern (she/her/hers), a curious, coffee-loving, open-minded, lover of travel, music, and good food! I am a licensed clinical social worker with an additional license in addiction counseling in Colorado. Originally from the Midwest, I attended the University of Minnesota and received my Master’s Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With over 15 years of experience in mental health, I will support you in your personalized therapy journey.

I believe that compassion, authenticity, and a little humor can go a long way—both in life and in the therapy room. Recognizing that you know yourself best, I act as a guide providing a safe space for change and healing to occur during the therapy process. My approach is strengths-based, incorporating a variety of therapy modalities. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also use other interventions such as parts work from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness or cognitive-based techniques. I am happy to talk more about these modalities and prioritize tailoring therapy to best meet your needs at your own pace.

Outside of therapy, you can find me drinking coffee, spending time outdoors, cooking, going to concerts, hiking with my dog, and spending time with my family. (Often though, I am dreaming about traveling or exploring new places!)

I look forward to connecting with you and getting to know your story!
